Taking the FE 8/22/22

UNIT 3 & the COMPREHENSIVE FINAL EXAM!

MicroDropbox Link (CLICK HERE)

FINAL EXAM: The Final Exam is Comprehensive and counts 20% of your final class grade.The FE is also recorded as a Chapter Test (your 2 lowest Chapter Tests are dropped but Exams cannot be dropped).

The Final Exam is given according to the college published dates and times and cannot be altered. You may take the Final at times offered on your campus, please email for a seat if that is NOT your usual class.  DATES and TIMES are posted on this microblogsite index page during the last 3 weeks of the class each term.

On your final exam date (SEE COURSE CALENDAR) attend the Final Exam in the room assigned at the time that is assigned, if you are more than 10 min late the door will be locked and no one will be admitted!  If this happens you may attend the next administration of the Final only IF THERE IS ROOM, if there is not room in the next FE, you will have to take an "i or incomplete" in the class and take the Final at the end of the next term.

Upon entering the Final Exam room, immediately turn-in your Final Exam Packet (see below). Please DO NOT LEAVE the final without me approving with you that your FE packet is complete. YOU MAY NOT SUBMIT THE FE PACKET EARLY! Please see the information on the FINAL EXAM PACKET (below) for how to prepare this submission.

As with all major exams in my class, seating for the FE is random.  Please place all personal items including cell phones (OFF) on or under the desks at the front of the room - DO NOT PUT THEM ON THE FLOOR & BLOCK THE WALKWAY (in Biol 112 put them on the floor in front of the black board). Select a seat number from the WHITE container with numbered seat cards in it and read it, return it to the smaller clear container - do not walk away with my seat number cards! Take your FE at the numbered spot you selected.

The Final Exam is taken on a Scantron #884 and has no Word or short answer questions... it is all multiple choice taken from the entire term of work.

INCOMPLETES: If you requested a excuse verified "INCOMPLETE or i" in the class, it is your responsibility to attend your Final Exam and WRITE on the top of the Scantron #884 above you NAME - "Incomplete requested."  You must also supply the instructor a verified MEDICAL EXCUSE for your lapse in attendance.  Finally, you must email the instructor your full name, ID# and class during Finals week with a formal request for an INCOMPLETE in the class.

If you receive an "i" in the class, you DO NOT RE-REGISTER or pay for the class again.  You must attend the first meeting of your prefered time/class during the NEXT term and notify the instructor that you are retaking the class to replace an INCOMPLETE grade on your transcript. You may not complete the class with another instructor and you have 1 calendar year to re-take the material you missed.

Final Exam Packet:

THE FE Packet is submitted when you enter the FE and is an envelope with the following information written in BOLD LARGE SHARPE on the outside:

your Last name, first name;
your college ID number;
your class/section number;
the college & term & year taken;
your email address; and,
your telephone number (a number that will reach you ASAP if I have questions about your grade during my final grade computations)

Inside the FE PACKET, please put the following items:

(1) your corrected typed formal Unknown Report (the PRE-GRADE is the recorded FINAL GRADE) with the previous title page submitted with PRE-GRADE comments - stapled to the top of the new title page

(2) Your properly completed Lab Record Book (LRB corrections done properly with no pencil, no erasers, & no white-out) & your printed Lab Guide for the BONUS

note: The FE Packet is NOT returned.

FINAL EXAM CONTENT:

The final exam is composed of 200 multiple choice questions and 1 Essay (you choose between one of 6 I suggest).  The content for these questions is 50% from the MOST MISSED QUESTIONS of the previous semester evaluations (that is why your scantron is returned with the questions you missed marked in RED and the reason you may find the question sheets for each exam in the MicroDropbox). The remaining 50% of the questions are taken from the lectures since the Midterm/Lab Practical 2 Exam including the Chapter 10 Acellular Parasites and HIV/AIDS plus Chapter 11 Eurkaryotic Parasites (the 5 Great Neglected Diseases of Mankind).  Additionally, there are usually 2 weeks of lecture on Chapters 12-18.

The PowerPoints for the new material will be posted below and there is a practice Final Exam provided.

NOTE:  The Final Exam grade is counts as a Final Exam and as a Chapter Test so that we have at least 10 Chapter Tests and thus the 2 lowest are dropped.

  2. I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
    liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
    reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
    became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
    ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
    treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
    the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
    treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
